EE Course Information Page
This page is an easy way to provide messages and downloadable files.
Providing Messsages and Other Non-Download Content
The text you are seeing is written with HTML markup in a file called "content.html" located in the course home directory. The file accepts text with HTML tags and is included in this page by the file server. You will find some instructions as comments in the file.
Note that the page's stylesheet is applied to the HTML to keep the appearance consistent. Not all tags will work with the stylesheet. If you find that you need additional capabilities for formatting text, please email EEIT@nd.edu for help.
Providing Files for Download
The process of offering files for download is deisgned to be fully automatic and as simple as possible. The page will automatically display links to files uploaded to the documents directory in the course home directory. The name of the uploaded file is translated by changing the underscore character "_" into a space and removing the extension (i.e.: .ppt, .pdf). The extension is used to determine the icon that will applied to the link.
For example, a file is uploaded to the documents directory with the name:
Lecture_3_Slides.ppt
The result will be a link that looks like:
Lecture 3 Slides
In addition, the creation date of the file is used to determine the date which will appear next to the links. Multiple files will appear under a single creation date for ease of reading. The dates are sorted by most recent. If you have any trouble getting the correct date to appear, please email EEIT@nd.edu for assistance.
